Mary Frances Phillips, Ph.D., is an associate professor of African American Studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Public Voices Fellow with The OpEd Project. She is the author of Black Panther Woman: The Political and Spiritual Life of Ericka Huggins.

Koustuv Saha, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Siebel School of Computing and Data Science and a Public Voices Fellow of The OpEd Project. He studies how online technologies and AI shape and reveal human behaviors and wellbeing.
